Just in time for the summer holidays: the convertible pool, diving pool and sauna are open to guests again

Good news for all swimmers: just in time for the start of the summer holidays, the 25-metre convertible pool, the diving pool and the sauna area at the Fächerbad Karlsruhe will once again be open to the public from Thursday 30 July 2026.

Work on the roof structure of the 50-metre indoor swimming pool is continuing according to plan. Since the extensive refurbishment work began in early July, the scheduled construction phases have so far been carried out as planned. The roof extension is on schedule.

Whilst the 50-metre and multi-purpose pools remain closed due to the ongoing roof refurbishment, visitors can once again look forward to one of the Fächerbad’s special highlights: the retractable-roof pool. The retractable roof allows swimming in almost any weather conditions and, together with the spacious sunbathing lawn and the adjacent sauna area, provides the ideal conditions for swimming, rest and relaxation.

The diving pool is also once again fully available to guests with immediate effect. This significantly expands the range of facilities on offer at the public swimming pool, just in time for the start of the holidays.

The roof refurbishment is the largest construction project since the Fächerbad first opened. The renewal of the roof structure, energy-efficiency upgrades and other technical measures will ensure the pool’s long-term sustainability. The aim is to continue offering bathers a modern, safe and energy-efficient sports and leisure facility for decades to come.

Fächerbad Karlsruhe GmbH would like to thank all visitors for their understanding during the construction phase and is delighted to be able to offer an expanded range of public swimming facilities again, just in time for the summer holidays. Fächerbad Karlsruhe will continue to provide regular updates on the progress of the construction work and the reopening of the 50-metre indoor swimming pool.
