What pools are there in Karlsruhe?
The Karlsruhe pools include 3 large areas:
These are outdoor pools
Open-air pools are swimming pools.
The swimming pools are outdoors.
They are only open in spring and summer.
These are indoor pools
Indoor pools are swimming pools.
The swimming pools are indoors in a large hall.
They are usually open all year round.
These are saunas and steam baths
Sauna
A sauna is a room with very hot air.
The room is usually made of wood.
The air in the room is between 55 and 90 degrees.
This is much hotter than it gets in summer.
The hot air causes the body to sweat.
This is good for your body and your health.
There are also infusions in the sauna.
It gets even hotter for a short time.
And the air smells good.
You may only enter the sauna without bathing clothes.
This is important in the sauna:
The sauna is strenuous for the body.
Therefore, you may only stay in the sauna for a short time
That means for 8 to 15 minutes.
You must then rest.
Steam∙bath
The sauna is often accompanied by a steam bath.
A steam bath is similar to a sauna.
But it's not as hot.
And the air is much more humid than in the sauna.
It looks like mist.
The warm and humid air is good for the body.
Fan∙bath
The Fächer∙bad is a large sports pool in Karlsruhe.
Special feature
The Fächer-bad is the sports pool in Karlsruhe.
There is a large indoor swimming pool here.
And sports facilities in the water.
There is also a sauna area.
The convertible pool is special.
The convertible pool has a special roof.
The roof opens in good weather.
Just like a convertible car.

- Access: Please report to the cash desk if you have a wheelchair.
